A Personal Word from Lui and Marina
"Dancing is our passion, and it is our great pleasure to share our experience and knowledge with you!"
Let's Go Dance specializes in social dancing and we have highly trained teachers for all levels, ages and occasions.
Whether you are dancing for pleasure, to improve your fitness and flexibility, to expand your social circle or to gain greater personal confidence, you will be impressed and delighted with the quality and care of our teachers, our studio and our interesting social programs.
You'll also enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, the friendly service and the professional, individual focus of our teaching style.
Our studio has been operating in the Brighton area for over 15 years and moved to Male Street in May 2003. The owners and Directors of Let's Go Dance, Mr Lui Nguyen and Miss Marina Larinsky, have both been professional dance instructors since 1999.
Rather than following a career as professional dance competitors, Lui and Marina chose to bring the joy and fulfillment of dance to others, and to enable others to know that joy, confidence and passion in the best way they could, by sharing it with others!
In January 2002 they took the opportunity to bring their own vision of a 'social' dance studio to life, and since that time have worked with literally hundreds of students, taking many from their very first 'baby' steps in social dance to the highest level of 'Gold Medal' dance standards.
In fact, some students have been with the studio for more than eight or nine years, and many students have been with them for five years or more, continuing to refine their technique, expand their step repertoire, and/or simply because they enjoy the great atmosphere, the opportunity to express themselves freely, and the great friendships they have developed over that time.
Lui and Marina's vision was to create an environment that was like no other dance studio, a place where people could feel like they were stepping into another world! A world where they could feel like a kid all over again!
Freedom to express themselves and not worry about what other people thought, where they could leave their worries behind them, and leave their fast-paced life, or stresses and demands at the door!
A place that offered a family-like environment of support and encouragement, a place where every person could feel as though they 'belonged'.
Lui And Marina's Partnership is so successful because they are both extremely passionate about dancing, and most importantly, about the people they are passing their knowledge and expertise to.
So come and join them and... "Let's Go Dance!"
Lui began dancing at the ripe old age of eight, after watching his mum take ballroom dancing lessons. He started getting up alongside of her and trying to imitate the steps himself, which naturally led to Lui pestering her into having his own lessons!
Later Lui began to pursue his hobby (turned passion!), more seriously and as a teenager constantly strived to achieve new levels of excellence in technique, style and performance.
Choosing a career as a dance instructor was a natural one for Lui, and he was able to use his great affinity with people to share what he had learnt, and so inspire in others a love and passion for dance too!
A gifted teacher and choreography, Lui is well known for being able to bring out the very best in his students, helping them show off their natural talents and abilities, while encouraging them to stretch their beliefs about what they can personally achieve in their dancing.
Starting her figure-skating career at four years old, marked the beginning of Marina's entry into the world of dance. Her figure-skating triumphs meant an early introduction to ballet and choreography movements, and this provided the foundation for her grace and style on the dance floor.
Later, after moving onto other hobbies and interests Marina realised that she really wanted dance to be a big part of her life, regardless of which direction her life took! By the time her family had moved to Australia at the age of 15, she had already decided that dancing was her biggest passion and that she wanted to dedicate her life to sharing that passion with other people.
Marina brings the new students through their very first baby steps into the world of dance and has an uncanny insight and knack for knowing exactly how to communicate the language of dance as the student takes those first steps. She delights in watching her new students gain a new found confidence and competence, with the number one rule being "Enjoy!"
Also a gifted choreographer, Marina brings grace, poise and emotion to her students' dancing, and a refinement and enhancement that can take her students to another level of joy and happiness in their dancing!
"Our real passion has never been about showing off our own skills and abilities, but rather, to instill that passion in other people, and to encourage others to bring out their true dancing potential.
Most people think of dance as a glamourous world that they would never be able to put their foot into, but at Let's Go Dance we invite you to step outside of yourself and to be a part of that world!
You'll find that dancing is such a wonderful tool and can be used to gain greater confidence, enjoy some of that glamour and develop a poise that many people may never have thought possible.
Whether you would just like to learn a few steps, and how to string them together, or whether you'd love the opportunity to express yourself as a performer, or whether you'd just love to come in and enjoy the benefits of a weekly hobby and lose yourself in the music and movement, then Let's Go Dance is the home for you.
We look forward to meeting you personally, and introducing you to the wonderful world of, and dizzy delights of dance!"
